One tablet can work well for siblings when each child has a separate profile with their own starting level, language, progress, and growing world. The handoff should take seconds, while each child still meets work that fits them and returns to a place they recognize as theirs.
In April 1970, Apollo 13 had a problem with no easy shared solution. The lunar module carried round carbon-dioxide scrubber cartridges; the command module’s spare cartridges were square. After the explosion disabled much of the command module, the crew needed a way to use those square cartridges in the lunar module before carbon dioxide became dangerous. The point was not that every part had to be identical. The point was that the parts had to work together without forcing one system to pretend it had the same needs as another.

The parent does not need to reconstruct progress from a streak count or a pile of points. The world itself shows that something was earned through play.
That is the useful emotional payoff of separate profiles. Each child can say, in effect, “I made this place brighter,” and mean their own place.
The parent can check real skill progress in the parent experience and receive a weekly digest. The child gets a welcoming return moment rather than pressure to protect a streak. There are no ads, in-app purchases, chat, public child profiles, or loot boxes competing for attention.
Shared tools work best when the state stays personal
Apollo 13’s crew survived because an incompatible spare could be connected safely to the system that needed it. The adapter did not erase the difference between square and round cartridges. It respected that difference and made cooperation possible.
