Minutes alone cannot tell a parent whether screen time helped. A useful progress report connects play to specific skills, such as comparing fractions, and shows how those skills are changing over time.

Imagine Tobias, a Munich father with cold coffee beside his laptop and one shoe still missing before the school run. His daughter, Lea, had spent several short sessions rebuilding machines in Jambolino. The weekly parent email said she had made progress with fractions.

  • Notice whether progress reflects mastery and review, rather than a one-off correct answer.
  • Ask your child to show how one challenge works.
  • Listen for the reasoning behind the tap.

The same test applies beyond fractions. In reading, a child might blend sounds or build a sentence. In logic, they might repair a train route by fixing an instruction. In science, they might make a prediction and test it. The action should reveal the thought.
